Chautauqua Presentation

Join us for a Chautauqua Presentation

Followed by a Hymn Sing

Presentation:

“Perkasie History Through Postcards”

Presented by Aaron Heckler

Join us as we celebrate postcards: how they evolved, their place in society during their heyday of the first decades of the twentieth century, different styles,  themes and  more!

Then take a look at postcards from Perkasie: telling a history of the town with a visual “tour” using old picture postcards compared to their modern day scenes. A “Then and Now”

Quick Chautauqua History:

Chautauqua is an adult education and social movement in the USA that was popular in the late 19th and 20th centuries. Chautauqua brought entertainment and culture for the whole community with speakers, teachers, musicians, showmen, preachers, and specialists of the day.
